The Korean adaptation has surpassed 10 million views since premiering on FlareFlow, highlighting the growing appeal of premium mobile-first storytelling among audiences and established television talent alike.

SINGAPORE, 22 July 2026 – FlareFlow, COL Group's flagship premium mobile-first vertical entertainment platform, is celebrating the success of its Korean original microdrama Raising His Mistress's Child (남편 불륜녀의 아이를 키웠다), starring acclaimed Korean actress Han Chae Young, best known for her iconic roles in Boys Over Flowers and Autumn in My Heart.

The series is the Korean remake of one of the world's most successful microdrama titles. The original Chinese production topped platform charts, generated more than US$15 million in revenue, attracted more than 4.85 million viewers, and recorded over 513,700 completed viewers, reflecting its exceptional engagement and commercial success. Recognising the title's global appeal, FlareFlow reimagined the blockbuster for Korean audiences with a premium local adaptation led by one of Korea's most recognisable television stars.

Premiering on FlareFlow on 10 July, the Korean adaptation has already surpassed 10 million cumulative views while delivering exceptional audience engagement. The series recorded an impressive 84.43% first episode retention rate and 67.60% second episode retention rate, demonstrating strong viewer retention and binge-worthy appeal.

Raising His Mistress's Child follows a woman whose life is shattered after surviving a life-threatening childbirth, only to discover that the baby she is holding is not her own. Betrayed by her husband and his mistress, whose illegitimate child has been placed in her arms while her own newborn is taken away, she embarks on a relentless journey of revenge, justice and redemption.

The success of the Korean adaptation reflects the rapid evolution of the microdrama industry across Asia.

Once regarded as a launchpad for emerging actors, premium microdramas are now attracting established television stars, higher production budgets and globally successful intellectual property, reflecting the format's rapid evolution into mainstream entertainment. As audiences increasingly embrace mobile-first viewing, the distinction between traditional television dramas and premium vertical storytelling continues to narrow.

"Microdrama has evolved far beyond short-form entertainment. Today, audiences expect premium storytelling, cinematic production quality and performances from actors they know and love," said Timothy Oh, General Manager, COL Group International and Chief Marketing Officer at FlareFlow. "Han Chae Young's decision to headline the Korean version of Raising His Mistress's Child reflects how far the industry has come. Mainstream television stars increasingly recognise microdramas as a premium storytelling format capable of reaching millions of deeply engaged viewers. This marks the beginning of a new era, where the biggest stories, the best talent, and the most compelling entertainment experiences are increasingly being created for the vertical screen."

Han Chae Young's casting is part of a growing trend across Asia, with acclaimed television and film talent increasingly embracing premium mobile-first productions as the format matures into one of the fastest-growing entertainment categories globally.

The Korean remake is part of FlareFlow's broader strategy to localise proven global intellectual property for regional audiences, combining blockbuster stories with celebrated local talent to create premium entertainment experiences that resonate across markets.

With Raising His Mistress's Child surpassing 10 million views within days of its premiere, FlareFlow continues to demonstrate how premium storytelling, internationally recognised talent and proven global intellectual property are shaping the next chapter of mobile-first entertainment.
